Windows XP Networking Configuration Problem
I am having problems setting up networking between two Windows XP
computers connected to a Linksys Broadband hub. I think there is something wrong with the networking configuration on my computer. I have set my primary partition for file sharing in simply file sharing mode with both the "Share this folder on the network" and "Allow network users to change my files" checked. On the same computer, when I exlore My Network Places and select the computer name corresponding to this computer and the shared drive, I get the following mesage: "\\computerName\SharedDrive is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command." Since I am trying to access my local harddrive through My Network Places, why would I have permission problems? Incidently, the File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks service under the local area connections properties is installed. |

This looks like a good fit for this fix:

Windows XP Networking Configuration Problem
Thanks for responding to my post. The registry fix solved part of the
networking problem that I was having. Now, I can access the shared drive locally and from another computer connected to the network. However, the remote computer cannot copy files from the local drive to a drive on the remote computer other than the default shared documents folder although the local computer can copy files from the local shared drive to the remote shared drive, although it is slow. I think the network configuration problem that I am having on my local computer is not completely fixed. Lance wrote in message ...
