Fax Problems

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (x64)
Microsoft Windows Fax and Scan 6.1.7601.17514 (WFS.exe)

I have used WFS.exe successfully via a dial-up dongle, both receiving
and sending faxes. Recently, however, I am having errors with both
receiving and sending.

According to one recipient of my attempt to send a fax, WFS.exe is only
handling digital faxes. That recipient has an older facsimile machine
that is not digital. That might also be why I could not receive a fax
from someone else a few weeks ago.

Is there a way to set WFS.exe to interface with older facsimile
machines? Otherwise, is there a free or cheap application that I can
use in place of WFS.exe?

Trump again proves he is a major source of fake news. He wants
to cut off disaster funds to repair the damage caused by the
Woolsey Fire in southern California because he claims the state
fails to manage its forests properly. The Woolsey Fire was NOT
a forest fire. Starting in an industrial tract, it did not burn
through any forests.

See http://www.rossde.com/fire.html.

Try 9600 baud.

If there is digital carriage nearer to you (phone company using
VOIP at the pedestal), the modem in your dongle won't be able
to pass 14400 cleanly. The workaround is to select 9600 baud
and try again.

I was having problems and ordered another dongle. Then found that
both required USB 2. My computer has both types and was trying to use
usb3 and they didn't work. They both worked fine on the usb2 ports.

Just a thought.
