of "last known good
configuration" will

dual monitors problem

you might simply
consider unplugging
that old small monitor
and put it in the closet
and use it as backup.

mail live,

then try deleting the
newsgroup account
and re-adding it.

also you might try
reinstalling the newsreader

the repair install would
have replaced any missing
or corrupted "system" files
on the hard disk with genuine
ones from the cd.

so the issue you are having
must be related to a third party
program.

The HP with XP-SP2 has extremely poor performance.

you might try booting
into safe mode and
see if system performance
is better.

if so, then it is likely that
third party drivers of
software are causing
the problem you have.

adaptor.

perhaps, there is a change
in the bios

perhaps, the drive connectors
have wobble loose

windows installed

you can simply convert
it to ntfs without formatting
and reinstalling the o.s.
