Sound works, then doesn't during start-up
As I said, you need to visit the mfg's website to get updates, the route you
took will not show that the mfg has released a newer driver. Check the PC
mfg's website, if it's a custom built PC check...

The hard drive will not cause the no power issue unless it's shorted, pull
it out and confirm that you still have the power on issues.
