Desktop Shortcut Problem

Several (not all) desktop shortcuts open to the google default search
engine, or my homepage, instead of the website that were created for!

System Idle Problem!

I'm just curious: Why would Windows seek an excuse to go back to sleep? It
certainly makes task scheduler kind of unreliable! Fortunately, I found a
program called "Insomnia" which reverses this...

they will open in Chrome, of course. But if you (for any reason) uninstall

IE still crashes daily (more than once)...this has been going on for years.
I've disabled add-ons, tried various changes in the options / advanced etc.
Still no luck!

The dropdown history menu has become dysfunctional. Nothing shows up. I've
