After the Windows Logo, I get my selected wallpaper. I get no task bar, no
start button, no icons. The only way to access the system is through
control-alt-delete and choose "new task".

Thanks for your advice, once again. What you've helped me to understand is
that I can either go with what I have or reinstall Windows. It's too bad that
Microsoft does not offer a WMI...
