movie maker won't save correctly

Just tried again. Now the .MSWMM files will re-open in MM but the .WMV files
will not play!
I have made many videos before and never had this issue.

I had problems with MM so I repaired it from the MM.ex file in i386. Now it
works better BUT when I save a project to my computer as .wmv, it will not...

clip audio won't play

this solved the problem: Click Start, Run and type mspaint.exe (Press ENTER)

mspaint won't open

using Win xp, home ed., sp2
mspaint.exe is located in C:\I386 but will not open. I get an error
message: paint has encountered a problem and needs to close. Paint is not
listed in the programs...

Perhaps Recordnow disabled the Windows functionality.
..........i took your hint and found a solution by going to cd properties and
unchecking the DLA box which puts windows back in...

OS - win xp home sp 2
win will no longer save to a disc even though Sonics Recordnow can do it.
please offer some repair suggestions for windows.
