Removing all NICs
Run this command from the run menu:
This should reset your TCP/IP Stack:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
If you have Service Pack 2 installed, use the following in additon:
netsh winsock reset...

Your problem may be due to not having enough room set aside for additional
restore points to be created. Therefore everytime a restore point is made
it overwrites the one from before.

Problems with d:/ - DVD R/RW
Was your blank CD unformatted? If so, that would be normal behavior because
it can't access the CD because there is no filesystem present on the CD.

BIG MISTAKE!
I would try going into the Device Manager, uninstalling the drivers for your
drive and rebooting.
Windows will recognize your drive and install the proper drivers for it.
You may need to reinstall...

Lost pw.
You should be able to boot up using the F8 key. In XP Home the default
admin account is usually left unprotected. Boot into Safe mode. Then
simply go under the User Accounts in the Control Panel...
