To answer both you and Chuck, yes, the router's LAN IP settings are changed
and yes, I ran an "ipconfig /all" to see from where they got their new IP
addresses, and it was from the router each time...

First of all, as others have said, if you did an in-place upgrade of an NT4
PDC, I believe it forces the new 2000 server to be a domain controller,
which requires it to have Active Directory....
