Iomega Zip Drive Removal?
This is how I do it:
Open Notepad.
Paste in the text.
Do a FileSave As.
Select where you want to save it to.
Change the file type from .txt to All Files.
Put in name such as Show.bat.
Select save

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
cd %SystemRoot%\System32
start devmgmt.msc
then run the batch file. When the Device Manager opens select ViewShow Hidden...

laptop - new HD - no CD or floppy drive
If you were able to actually boot the drive on the PC you could try using the Sysprep utility along
with the Plug and Play switch to get it to search for the new hardware when booting on the laptop....
