Name of running programs

I want to bring up "things" in Windows without having to search.
I want to bring them up from the command prompt.

The question is how to find the name of something running once it's already

Why would a search engine need updating?

I have a slow desktop where I may just reinstall Windows 10 which is
probably the best way to fix it.
