Thats exactly the problem - we have (at least in SP2) a great OS, working
well on older hardware...the hardware's still fine, but our software
supplier is refusing to support let alone sell us new...

If our app is not written to take advantage of multiple cores, is there
anything that can be done to speed it up on a multi-core machine? For
example, Task Manager allows you to set an "Affinity"....

multiple cores. This is something we'll have to look at.

tried it and it doesn't work! When I press "Insert" and "OVR" is displayed,
it types over the next character like usual...
