Tom,
I can't access the link you sent me. It flashes and instantly disappears.

failed installation

After trying dozens of ways to install KB967715, my computer won't oblige
me, so I just ignore it now. Is there any good reason why I need to install
it? Is there any danger in not installing it?...

I consider the case closed. Webroot quarantined the virus I had and that's

Virus quarantined

I just had a virus quarantined along with several cookies.
Is that as good as having it removed? Webroot just quarantines things.

Nothing seems to work. I am giving up on KB967715 and will not even try to
install it again. I'm doing okay with

I went to the link you suggested and uninstalled RoxioDLA like it advised.

I believe the problem is solved. Windows was TRYING to install the same
update day after day with no result. I installed it manually and now I
don't get anything to update when I turn off.

Daave,
Wouldn't a sweep at Webroot find any malware? All they find are some
cookies that need to be quarantined. I am not unistalling SP3 and IE
because there doesn't seem to be any problem now...
