LAN is working but Internet is not working
only reason I can think of, is a problem with your ISP. Perhaps their DNS
servers were temporarily down. It happens - but rarely, so the problem may
not arise again.

open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all on each PC. Look at the result

StartProgramsAccessoriesSystem Toolschoose Internet Explorer (no
add-ons). If your internet pages now show ok, I suspect you have a problem...

IE 7 & 8 can't connect to secure sites
mmmm... seen this before. How about trying uninstall/reinstall network
adapter in device manager - sometimes firewall issues cause this. Talking
about firewall - have you disabled this temporarily...

Can access websites with IE7
Had a similar problem recently. Try uninstalling NIC and re-installing in
device manager. Have you installed a game recently that uses cheat
protection - I think it was called nprotect. Nightmare...
