Windows counts how many times you delete Shortcut To on an icon. When =
you do it three times it no longer prefaces Shortcut To on new =
shortcuts.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer
Link=3D
Link starts at 15 or 20 and is decremented by 5 each time you delete =
Shortcut To. Once it reaches 0 no more Shortcut To.
I never did discover why it counted by 5 rather than 1.

Is there anyway to remove the little black and white arrow icon that =
shows up=20
shortcut icons? I have some nice icons and that arrow just takes so =
much away=20

But even though you _can_ remove the arrows, it may not be wise. It=20
can make a difference sometimes whether you're manipulating a=20
shortcut or the actual program.

I've found that I can just: Right-click on the title; select "rename"
and type in a new name for the icon: "WP10", "C-Drive", "Q-Time =
Player",
etc. It won't remove the arrow - but does eliminate the "Shortcut to"
that takes up so much extra space. Hope that helps!
