All went well except (as I already knew) it will not update until I
install a newer browser. The funny thing is I could not go to the
Microsoft site to download it with IE8.

I had IE11 on a USB stick but I just thought this funny.

Because the CPU does not have SSE2 I could neither install
Firefox or
Chrome.

I've been playing with this, Philo

https://github.com/brave/brave-browser

//What are the system requirements to install Brave?
Windows

Â*Â*Â*Â* An Intel Pentium 4 processor or later that's SSE2 capable//

Â*Â*Â*Â*You didn't even bother to read the specs, did you ?

No. Philo is a big boy now; maybe he'll use it on another computer.

Yep.

Will try Brave Browser for sure.

After I got Win7 updated the machine came up with a green screen
after a reboot. Not a corrupted OS as even the BIOS screen was green.

The machine had on-board video but when I simply installed a
card,...same green screen.

Machine going to the recyclers

Thanks for the update. I had a tear in my eye when I took me old iMac
to the tip! :-(

Btw, here's another browser you might like to play with:
https://vivaldi.com

Cheers! :-)

I already use Vivaldi, thanks

YW :-)

Do you know much about Rootkits?

Can you pop in here and respond to me? rec.photo.digital
