My PC with SP2 refuses to allow the HP site to download and install an
active-ex script to check and see if I need updated software. HOW THE
$&*&^%$ bloody hell do I shut that damn thing off? I need this done. Do
I
have to uninstall SP2 yet again to allow the HP site to install the
script?
Clicking on the bar to allow it to download on my PC didn't work.

How do I get rid of these Sp2 pain in the ass security problems?

My PC is a HP w/W-XP Home/SP2 .

I'm the Owner Administrator of the PC and the only user.

You put the HP site in the Trusted security Zone.

** I didn't put the HP site anywhere. What do you mean?

If you take the time to read and do a google search,

** Google search for WHAT?

or even call HP,

** When you PC is long past the warranty period you cannot call them for
information on a MS update problem with SP2. They will refer me back to MS.
Been there - done that. That's why I'm asking here. You seem to know
little about SP2's security issues and how HP operates.

you can find the answer fairly easily

** Where? What do I look for and where?

- and the foul language is not
called for in public, unless you don't want any more help.

** What foul language? "Bloody hell" isn't foul language in the the USA.
