Default how do you change the logon background image?

Hi

I've tried that, it didn't make any difference, XP just ignored it. Does the
new BMP have to match the default BMP exactly in height and width? Does it
have to be in brackets, eg [D:\LogonBG.bmp]? And do I have to include the
filetype in the new value?

Even after rebooting or logging off XP just ignores any tweak I make.

Hello Tim,

If you are trying to change the default wallpaper for the logon screen,
launch the registry editor and navigate to:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

Change the data of the 'Wallpaper' string to the fully qualified path of

the
desired BMP.

I have tried TweakUILogonWallpaper, and I have tried using ResHack, and

I
have tried using the few registry hacks that are out there, but not one

of
them works! Whatever changes I make don't seem to take, and it goes back
to
default. I think maybe it's because Windows File Protection is stopping
any
changes, though most of the tweaks I've read out there don't seem to
mention
WFP at all. And yes I am the administrator of this pc, I have full

access.

Any ideas? All I want to do is change the logon background image...seems
simple enough.

Tim
