MS Document Imaging

This software does not install by default under Office 2007, so I go
to add/remove and look at the install state of this app. According to
the number 1 shown against the Document Imaging, this should be
installed on first use.

So change the install configuration from "Installed on First Use" to
"Run [all] from My Computer". Be sure to have either the install CD
ready or a folder where you can point at to find the install files.

As noted in my original post, I have already tried this and, although there
were progress bars etc. showing this operation progressing, the application
has not appeared in the menu selection

Where is the Start menu folder for all the shortcuts to load the Office
components (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc)? In that folder should
be a subfolder called "Microsoft Office Tools". Did you move the Office
start menu folder elsewhere but not drag along the Tools subfolder?
