Yeah, I just wanna say thanks too. The problem's been taunting me for four hours; couldn't neither re-install or update my way out of it. All I had to do was choosing the Launcher component in the Custom menu, like you said, and reboot. Now everything's fine...

If it lacked an install CD you can download the suite from Creative's site. You
can try the Auto Update but you may have to download/install the suite manually since
your adapter isn't listed in the AU product list.
