Thank, I downloaded the Faststone and am checking it out. The
Irfanview seems good though.
What do you need in an image/photo viewer?

Irfanview can do many quick edits & batch operations but it's not a "photo
editor" nor an "image editor" (they're considered different in key ways).
a. viewer
b. image editor
c. photo editor
d. artwork creation
etc.
I have many of the most recommended installed on my system, e.g.,
cd c:\app\editor\pic dir /b
artweaver
faststone
fotor
fotosketcher
ghostscript
gimp
imagemagick
inkscape
irfanview
jsware_crop
krita
morph
ms_paint
paint.net
paintshoppro_freeware
paintstar
photodemon
photoshop_freeware
photopad
pinta
vicman_last_good_version
xnview
That doesn't count the vector and/or cad editors, e.g.,
cd c:\app\editor\cad dir /b
blender
draftsight
freecad
fusion360
inkscape
sketchup

If I had to recommend just _one_ image editor (for what I do a lot, which
is editing screenshots with callouts, texts, and arrows), it would be
Paint.NET (even as I hate having to install .NET Framework for it).
