I have been asked to make a Protab 14 laptop useable.
It was working but I didn't have a password.
The BIOS has been hacked to prevent booting from USB
devices. There is no option to set the boot order and
trying to boot from the troubleshooting page gives a
message ,"This device has no USB boot options."
I managed to get into EFI shell and delete some files
so Windows would not start. I was then able to boot from
a Windows 10 64 bit DVD. I have been unable to find
drivers to get the inbuilt sound or the WiFi working.
I am looking for a table with a short leg.

Did you look it up ? It is a ultra low capacity laptop with 32 gig
storage. I would doubt that it would run win 10. What was the os
installed ?

I don't speak Australian, so I don't know how to
translate this. Is Unisurf a toothpaste company ?
For a computer company, their web site leaves a bit
to be desired.

pendo unisurf protab 14 laptop

http://www.unisurf.com.au/unisurf-14-Notebook.html

Windows 10 Wi-Fi Drivers

http://www.unisurf.com.au/pdf/sp68594.zip 38,770,612 bytes

Broadcom BCM43XX or similar.

There's no BIOS manual, so no way to imagine what
the BIOS screens look like. Or for that matter, how
you'd reflash the thing. But I bet the owner "got a good deal"
on this plum.

And 32GB is enough for Windows 10. To do upgrades, you might
have to plug in a USB stick to extend the scratch space, but
other than that, it can make it with 32GB. But 32GB is not
a pretty sight, because there's no place for personal files.
There's no SD slot mentioned in the manual. Personal files
would end up on USB sticks. Cool beanz.

And disabling the USB ? Why, it's the only practical interface
it's got. Who would do such a thing ? Is this a school board
computer ???
