Default System Restore Problems

Hi
When I browse to the i386 folder the files are there but the SR reinstall
says it cannot copy them.
I can't disable SR on my second disk because clicking on the System Restore
tab of
My Computer/Properties gives the message "Run a DLL as an App has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience!" This sets off Dr Watson's debugger and it fails with the same
message.
(I've found your web site very useful and I've been working steadily through
your suggestions but with no success yet.)

Thanks!

Hi,

The event log indecates there's a partition low on disk space. I would
suggest setting System Restore to only monitor the partition Window is
installed on.

Disable a monitored drive

Every time I try to run system restore I get the message "System
restore Application has encountered a problem and needs to close
etc... " System Restore also fails to run in safe mode.

The Event Viewer shows the message:
Event Type: Information
Event Source: SRService
Event Category: None
Event ID: 107
Date: 28/11/2005
Time: 22:08:40
User: N/A
Computer: DESKTOP
Description:
The System Restore service has been suspended because there is not
enough disk space available on the drive
\\?\Volume{65581363-053a-11d7-bd5f-806d6172696f}\. System Restore will
automatically resume service once at least 200 MB of free disk space
is available on the system drive.
But I have 62 GB free on my system disk and 25 GB free on the other!

Also clicking the System Restore tab on My Computer/Properties leads
to another failure with "Run a DLL as an APP has encountered a
problem and neesds to close etc...
I'm running XPSP2.
Any help would be appreciated.
