How long ago since they were last used?
November of 1932.
Any particular reason for picking that month and year?

Yes. I remember it was only a couple years after the crash and that the
Depression had just started, but we had already ordered the computer and
we had to take it.

Or maybe Nov 5 (but way back further to 1605) for Guy Fawkes Night
celebrated in Britain because you just watched the "V for Vendetta"
movie where the main character wears a Guy Fawkes mask?

Or are you telling us you are over 85 years old?

Before me, it was my father's computer.

He would be 126 now.

How many 12AX7 tubes did it take ?

Eight. 4 push-pull circuits, one for each channel, front and rear
stereo. Neighbors would come to look at it and listen to it. It was
an IBM WT, the precursor to the XT.

They did make motherboards with vacuum tubes,
so it's not unheard of.
