Default Everything Stealing Too Much CPU

Latest Everything.exe installed.

It is so much faster and very useful

EXCEPT !

when minimized to the taskbar it eats over 80% of the CPU causing
other apps to turn into snails.

If I bring it to the main window "Show Search Window" Everything stops
stealing all that CPU and drops down to around 3% CPU usage.

Any way to moderate Everything ?

Process Lasso is free for XP users, and you can configure it to decide
who gets what in the way of CPU usage.

You were unclear as to whether you are using XP or 7 (you
cross-posted).

Have you tried "Index Your Files" ?

There's a portable version available.

Or for a really fast search

https://sourceforge.net/projects/swiftsearch/

It doesn't do file content, though, only filenames. Also portable.
