genuine and I can't get Win 7 back. In
that event I will just put in my backup
Win 7 HD and maybe clone over this one.

As an observer on the sidelines, I'm just puzzled why you _aren't_ just
putting back the backup W7 HD, and spending so much time trying to get
the more recent one back to activated. I'm assuming the backup one was
made by cloning an activated system. Or have you done something with the
one that's gone rogue, that you don't want to lose?

A clean, neat and orderly desk is a sign of a sick mind. (G6JPG's mind is
clearly extremely healthy ...)
