I am now having this problem as well. It used to work, but when I plugged
the firewire into the camcorder today, it didn't. Nothing has changed with
the camera or computer setup. Has anyone else found a way to fix this yet?

firewire cable from computer IEEE 1394 to the DV port on the camera. When I
click on capture from video device I get the message " A video capture device
