Default scan for file corruption

Well its like please check the version of Windows installed on your system

Click Start -- Run and type "winver" without quotes....

Now you will know if Windows Xp SP1 or Windows XP SP2 is installed on your
system. Accordingly, you will need to insert the disk in the drive and run
SFC.

If you have Windows XP Sp1 installed use Windows xp SP1 disk or If you have
Windows XP SP2 installed you will have to use windows XP sp2 CD.

Thanks please let me know if this helps..

Does it matter which XP cd you use? I have the original, with SP1, and then
Dell sent me another one, with SP2 on it. Would like to know, since I'm
really having a problem with my non-expandable windows boxes decreasing in
size.
Thanks for any help.

1. Go to Start Run and type: CMD , and hit enter.
2. In the Command Prompt window type: SFC /SCANNOW
and hit enter. Have your Windows XP CD available.
