On some modern routers there is a button that when pressed will connect
any device to the network. I am not sure how it works but I know it is
there on my Motorola router.

I don't know details, but the WPS function is regarded as
a huge security hole and should be disabled. (Too bad, it
works well as I found with a couple of wireless
printers...)
