The video card talks to the monitor....and it needs to be capable of diplaying
that resolution(1600x1200@75hz)
Check your drivers for your video card

I just brought a 19in CRT monitor, GNR Haier HV900CS 19ins CRT 0.25mm
1600x1200@75hz Monitor. However windows XP won't recognise the drivers,
and I am unable to find an XP driver on the net. Since using the monitor
I have had the computer freeze on me. Could this be the monitor, or do I
have another problem? XP is running the monitor as a plug in and play

Kevin, Thanks for the reply. I thought it could be a coincidence, but would
windows try and put the monitor into standby mode on shut down?
