Default Computer keeps restarting

I had this problem on several of my computers. I beginning that Microsoft
with all the updates have caused older computers to fail. All of mine are
3-5 years old. How old is yours?

For some reason after I cleaned my hard drive with Cleaner and ran Defrag,
everything is running fine on the computers. Maybe there was a virus that
taxed the old computer to cause it to shutdown.

Hi, I think i have the same problem. After certain time my computer
restarts
itself, showing blue screen with some messages. One of them is that "the
problem is caused due to hardware or software installation, make sure that
they are installed properly". Also i get some error codes one of is stop
error and says "retarting....." but it doesn't restart and I have to press
F8
to bring it to normal as it says to press F8 to work in safe mode.
Please help me with this problem.
Thank you.

Hi

The Blue screen will appear when the PC reboots/restarts itself. BSOD =
Blue Screen Of Death. The Stop Code will be on the Blue Screen in this
kind
of format:

0x0000000a(0xa9fdf90c,0x00000002,000000000,0x804ee d80)

If you please post the number that is in front of the leading bracket.
To
find the Event Viewer type the following from StartRun:

eventvwr.msc

Then click on the icons in the left hand column and if any errors are
mentioned. If there are any could you please post the Source and Event
ID?

I didn't get blue screen, not sure where stop error would be. What is
BSOD,
also where do I find event viewer?

Thanks I will try that. I don't get any error messages. Going to
reboot
now
and will come back and let you know how it worked.

Hi Jim

Any error messages to work with?

If you don't see any error messages, right click on My Computer,
select
Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under
Startup
and
Recovery and disable 'Automatically restart'. Next time your PC
reboots,
you should see a Blue Screen. Could you please post the Stop Code
from
the
BSOD?

Also, please have a look in the Event Viewer to see if any entries
there may
refer to the problem.

My Computer keeps re-starting itself. This usually happens after
about
being
on for 2 and 1/2 hours. I have the power settings at always on.
