WOW - an STFU troll! Are you the same one I saw over on
alt.os.linux.ubuntu ???

I know that when someone tells *ME* to "STFU" I do the OPPOSITE,
just to
irritate them and PROVE that *I* can *NOT* be controlled. Or not. my
choice.

You don't seem to have minded the "FOAD" that went along with it...

it's the "trying to silence me" via the 'STFU' that's the most
irritating. the FOAD just kinda rolls off.

people who try to "silence the opposition" are generally arrogant
ass-hats, and potentially, bullies and control freaks.

So the 'STFU' identifies "the type".

And instead of having a discussion or agreeing to disagree, they just
arrogantly insist that what THEY believe is "the only way" and tell
everyone who disagrees with them to SHUT THE **** UP, like they have
some kind of policing authority or it adds weight to their [most likely
thin] position or argument. Alternately it may be because *THEY* don't
like you, and so they want you to go away, because they're still in Jr.
High School or something. Too bad, they just can't have their little
exclusive country club or clique.

So yeah, I generally *HATE* who they are to the core, and will do
whatever I can to *EXPOSE* the STFU trolls for what they a ignorant,
arrogant ass-hats, and potentially, bullies and control freaks.

I like you Bob!

I see you're a BSD user, but you'd make a welcome addition to
comp.os.linux.advocacy.

thanks - I do a lot with Linux as well (mostly Debian, Ubu, and Mint),
and write or modifie linux kernel drivers on occasion [did a bunch of
netfilter and wifi stuff within the last decade]. Mostly it's 'whatever
makes the most sense' for what I use for my day-to-day stuff.

Impressive!

There are some close ties between Debian and FreeBSD if you haven't
already noticed. Debian having a BSD kernel option is only one of them.

Yes, I've noticed. Some of the internals use the BSD way of doing things.

I see all users of FOSS, whether it's Linux or BSD, to be allies.
