Default Keyboard Shortcuts

Fri, 12 Feb 2010 17:26:08 -0600 from Bill Warmer
:

I use keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+alt+letter) to start programs I use
most often. I recently installed a new version of a program and it
uninstalled and reinstalled the start menu sorrtcuts that were for the
old program, including the one with my shortcut keys on it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have deleted the shortcut key
definition. When I try to set the same keys for the new version of the
program, Windows won't accept it (since it's apparently already in use)
but it won't start anything because the original program and icon are gone.

In the past, when making changes, I have sometimes found that I
couldn't reassign a combination even after unassigning it. The cure
that always worked for me was to reboot, thus forcing Windows to
reinitialize its list. Just logging off and on again might do it.

Or have you tried those, and they didn't work for you?
