Default ie 6 has gone missing after update to sp3

I know that IE 6 is still on my computer because it comes up when I click on
Windows Update, BUT
after installing sp3 the shortcut vanished and I cannot find IE when I look
via Explorer.
Under Program Files Internet Explorer is listed with a few subfolders, but
none of those contain the file to execute the program--they are mostly files
for connecting to the internet.

Where is the program hidden, or do I have to go through a connection wizard to
get IE back where it belongs?

Since it fires up when I click on Windows Update, I suspect the exe file must
be around somewhere. Didn't see it under Windows (in Explorer) either.

Thanks for any ideas.

Do a search for iexplore.exe. It should be located here,

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

When you find it, right click on the file and select Send to - Desktop (create
shortcut). You can now drag or copy the shortcut onto your Start menu.

Good luck

Thanks. Found it via Search in an odd place. Don't know why MS took the
access off my computer.
It was in Windows\ServicePackFiles\386 and in
Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads etc.

It is not in Program Files\Internet Explorer--though I believe it was
there before I installed sp3.

Thanks
