Does anyone know how to print a prn file in Windows XP?

Use the procedure below which works with any version of

Windows:

How to Print from a Command Prompt

To print from a command prompt, type "copy filename.prn

LPT1 /b",
and then press ENTER, whe

filename.prn must be appended with the full path name if

you are not
in the subdirectory where the file is located. If you

are using a
printer port other than 1 make the appropriate changes.

Be sure to
put the /b at the end or the copying will stop when the

first ASCII
character above 127 is encountered. Leave out the

quotation marks.

The prn file must use drivers for the printer to which

you want to
send the copy. You might receive gibberish otherwise.

A Postscript
file might generate scores of pages of text if your

printer does not
have a Postscript rendering driver.

The link below has details for setting up drag and drop

printing:

Earl,

Thank you for the response.

If I interpret correctly, I must print to an lpt port. I
need to print to a printer connected to a usb port
though. Can I do that with the procedure you sent?

Thank you again.

Very truly yours,
Gene
