Could be Matitico only disabled the spammy fake signature on e-mails.
There could be a separate setting for messages sent to newsgroups.
E-mail and newsgroups are not the same thing.

Hi, I am answering having removed altogether the "mail agent"
(previously I had ticked off the analysis of outgoing messages, both
mail and news groups - and it did not suffice!). I hope this time the
Avast advertisement will have disappeared! (and I apologize if it is
still there...)
