I have it on DVD as well so it is now going to be redundant.

Thanks for your help. I have partition Magic 7 and there is

Before you blow up your restore partition make sure your DVD
can actually reinstall XP.

Personally, I'd leave the restore partition in place. You
bought a computer from a company that was too cheap to include
a real XP installation CD. How accommodating do you think
they're going to be when you have to contact them because you
lost your DVD or it's scratched? When it comes to computers,
"redundant" isn't a bad idea.

Also, do some research before you upgrade to Vista. I think
you're going to find that in order to use an upgrade version
you have to start the installation from within XP.

Good luck
