Use Partition Magic. Don't merge the partitions. Just delete the offending
partition and resize the partition (C) to utilize all the space left over
when you deleted the hidden partition.

Running XP on a drive with a hidden partition and a C and D drive. I want
to delete the contents of the hidden partition and reclaim that space in
the
C drive. I am either upgrading to Vista or doing a fresh install and the
original XP back up is in the hiddenpartition . I have it on DVD as well
so it is now going to be redundant.
Thanks for your help. I have partition Magic 7 and there is a combine
feature there but I am unclear as to its appropriateness for this task.
