Default sound recorder user window size

The window that opens for the sound recorder is too small, it does not
show
the record buttons. The max screen option is not in place and the window
will
not resize.

The Sound recorder window is of a fixed size and the size cannot be changed.
There is only one record button - the one with the red circle.

There are better utilities around than Sound Recorder.
