The rules about where files can be saved/written have been in
existence for a long time but only enforced by MSFT from Vista
onwards.

You need to get back to the author and ask him/her to update the
program so it uses the proper directories.



Already doing that, keeping him updated as to what has shown up, so that
he can rewrite further versions, revisions etc:
His OS is XP Pro and the errors did not appear on his machine,
only developed when we tried it on 7 and Tech Preview
