Ok that's a fair answer to the simple question of detection of
version. Thanks. Both ways don't show anything ressembling to SP2, I
still only see what I wrote in (1) in my original message.
But I still don't know why SP2 is not installed and how to actually
and really install it.
I went on the SP2 web site and followed the 3 steps procedure (but
step 3 was never accessed or accessible).
-Step 1 : firewall : no action required.
-Step2 ; turn on Automatic update : OK and "Windows Update" is in
the Start menu, set on "every day , at 1 PM" (here in Brussels,
Belgium, it's now 2:42 PM).
I noticed yesterday that 17 critical or important updates were
applied.
I restarted my PC as Windows requested it.
Is it important that I'm using the "classic mode" of WP ?
My PC was bought in November 2001, a Pentium 4 1.80 Ghz with 256 MB
RAM, 80 GB HD, CD bruner, DVDF reader, USB etc.
Thanks again
