Hi All,

I can not do this myself as I am running virtual machine
and it mounts USB drive in an unusual manner.

Can you "hide" (remove) a flash drive's drive letter, remove
the drive, then reinstall the drive, and have Windows 7 still
honor the request that the drive be hidden?

I am hoping Windows reads the UUID and uses that to honor
the request each time it is inserted.

Many thanks,

Not sure, I think so - it does tend to respect giving a USB drive a
specific drive letter, so that on subsequent inserts the drive gets the
same letter, so why not respect giving it no drive letter at all? I
wouldn't rely on Windows for this though, I use USB Drive Letter Manager
(USBDLM) from Uwe Sieber for this kinda stuff.
