Thanks for the idea.

I followed the instructions on the Regedit, but it still wants to install,
even when marked "Do not ask again". *It's saying something about the port
was not detected or found...

Hi !

I have a HP desktop PC running XP professional version 2002 SP3. *Every
single time I boot or reboot the PC, I am told that I have a new device
called "printer" and it tries to install the drivers for it. *And every
time,
it fails.

Needless to say, the three printers I have hooked up are installed and
working fine.

I have checked the box "not to check for the device", but it still checks
everytime. *And there are no "?" devices in Device Manager....

What can I do to stop this? *It's very annoying !!

HELP !!!!

The New Hardware Wizard may detect the printer device after every restart of
the computer

Network printers should not be a "plug and play" detectable device

I would consider letting the "Plug and Play" wizard complete once so
as to se with it is detecting.
