Default Built in netword card shows up as removable on HP laptop

what happens if you use the switch (or keyboard combination) to turn
the wireless off/on/off/on again? does it re-enable? what laptop
specifically?

HP supplies some of their current laptop models with a Broadcom network card
built in that shows up as a removable device and can be accidentally
"removed" by the user (Using the "Safely remove hardware" icon in the system
tray). When this happens the network adapter is unavailable until the next
reboot.

How do I tell Windows that the card is not removable?
