Can anyone recommend a good free antivirus program that works on
Windows 7, other than Avast.

Nobody knows what a "good" (in your opinion) antivirus program is,
people only recommend their personal preference.

Well obviously I meant a "good" in their opinion antivirus program.

If you want to decide for yourself what is good, check out this site:

- AV-Comparatives
https://www.av-comparatives.org/

If you want to know what AV performs well over the years,
start reading summary reports:
https://www.av-comparatives.org/summary-reports/

And that, of course, is someone else's opinion on what is good.

Wrong answer!

AV-Comparatives is the best source of these comparisons.
You should really read the summaries.

But if it is only just another (meaningless?) opinion to you,
why do you ask for any opinion at all?

Because I wanted them.

I *asked* for other people's opinions on what was good, and if they
are auithoritative, so much the better.

That was just a response to your stupid comment about me aski8ng other
people to give my opionion -- go and troll somewhere else.
