Would you recommend one of the above for use with Windows 10 or would
you suggest Open Office?Â* https://www.openoffice.org

I'm trapped.
Even with my limited knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications I find
that my extensive use of macros is absolutely essential in order to
maximise my productivity. I have over 20 years worth of macros for Excel
and Word which I rely on.
None of the applications listed above can deal with Microsoft VBA so I
have no choice.
Oh the beauty of lock-in. I have a colleague like that with excel. I'm
trying to get him to learn R but it's a struggle. He sees the benefit, but
can't undo his excel knowledge.
I'm in the process of weaning myself off word to Markdown + git. That way
i can produce any version of document i want via pandoc and have proper
version control rather than word's "track changes" shambles. I'm still
trying to work out the best way to share and collaborate with Word
diehards.
