Anyone have any suggestions on what I should check and or anything I can
do to restore WMP on my Win7 pc?
You did not say what you use WMP for.
There are MUCH better alternatives.
I dumped WMP back around 2001 and use MPC, VNC, Screamer, Goldwave, etc.
Sorry, Paul! I was trying to play music in the WMP library that I have
recorded from my DVD collection. However, since posting this I tried to
play one of my DVDs and it also had no sound ... but I noticed the sound
icon had a small red x. When I removed it the sound came back with the
disk ... and with the library. There was no indication in the library
playback.
When I looked through all the sound settings for devices, etc., there
was nothing muted. If it is blocked when I reboot tomorrow, guess I
will have to search again for what is controlling it.
I have VLC too as an optional player, just rarely use it. Thanks for
your patient response as always.
