So one machine has working DNS and the other one doesn't.
Command Prompt for each
nslookup
www.sun.com # queries DNS
ping 156.151.59.35 # proves network connection
ping
www.sun.com # fails with no DNS
On the broken machine, this will open a web page.
The Oracle/Sun web page should appear. This proves
the plumbing works.
http://156.151.59.35
If this in turn does not work, then the DNS isn't
set up. The default Windows setting is to get the
DNS server address from the router via DHCP, but
this can be adjusted/disturbed in a networking panel.
