Now I remember that when I transferred WM to my PC after installing Windows
7 (where it works fine), I applied some or all registry files. I got the
howto information from a web site, but this site seems down nowadays.
The registry files are "for making WM work on Windows 7", so I didn't dare
to apply them on Vista. Also, this shouldn't be necessary since WM was
already on Vista when I bought the notebook...

I don't know if you're a registry guru, but I'll paste a link to the
registry files... you never know if it gives a lead.
