I've not seen anyone get S mode unless they were using a school's

Most computer stores around here in the Silicon Valley seem to sell S-mode
cheap laptops, e.g., Best Buy, Costco, Frys, etc.
In my experience, all other things being accounted for, S-Mode laptops are
about $50 cheaper than Win10Home laptops.
For me, that's reason enough to buy them since the conversion to Win10Home
from Win10S is trivial.
